BIO ANDY FORGIE

Andy Forgie and quality family musical entertainment have become synonymous throughout the Quinte region.

Andy’s professional career that began in the summer of 1974 has spanned rock, children’s music, musical therapy for seniors and family favourites from the 50’s through to the 70’s.

Andy’s wealth of experience includes recording for Capitol Records with his band Photograph, working with Tom Cochrane and renowned producer Daniel Lanois (U2), not to mention his many concert performances alongside show business legends Bob Newhart, Wolfman Jack and Davey Jones (of the Monkees).  Andy performs nationally and internationally in a celebration of the Beatles, including concerts in the U.S and England with All You Need is Love.

Recent years have seen Andy develop in to a favourite childrens/family entertainer performing a wide variety of festivals, schools, libraries and theatres.  In the tradition of children’s troubadours i.e. Raffi/Fred Penner, Andy combines original music and timeless favourites for a hand clapping, toe tapping camp fire style sing-a-long.  In the children’s field, working alongside of Canadian Bob Homme (Friendly Giant), Sharon & Bram and the Polka Dot Door stage show, Andy has developed a natural performing style that charms instantly.  Perhaps Andy’s greatest attribute is his ability to connect through his music with any age group in attendance.

From Broadway to the Beatles, the war years and seasonal favourites, Andy has a song for you.
